Locations

While MMPA is based in Metro Detroit and calls the Great Lakes region home, the cooperative has national and international connections. MMPA dairy farms are spread across Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin, with their milk flowing into our plants or directly to a wide range of dairy customers. Our locations include five processing facilities throughout Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, with wholly-owned subsidiary brands, Superior Dairy in Canton, Ohio, and Heritage Ridge Creamery in Middlebury, Indiana.

Locations

1. Novi, Michigan

Headquarters: Located in the metro-Detroit area, the headquarters is home to supply chain, sales, membership, finance, human resources and information technology. Also onsite is an FDA-certified central laboratory that supports milk quality assurance across member farms.

2. Mt. Pleasant, Michigan

Farm Supply Store: The MMPA Farm Supply Store sells chemicals, equipment and other supplies to members and the public. As part of the cooperative, profits earned through the store are returned to those members who participate in the program.

3. Ovid, Michigan

Dairy Ingredient Plant: MMPA’s largest plant is in Ovid and processes over 5 million pounds of milk daily into a range of core dairy ingredients including butter, milk powder, condensed milk and cream. An expansion at the Ovid plant was completed in early 2026 which added ultrafiltered milk to its portfolio.

4. Constantine, Michigan

Dairy Ingredient Plant: MMPA’s Constantine dairy ingredients plant processes milk into ultrafiltered milk, cream and condensed skim milk, with a daily capacity of nearly 3 million pounds of milk and includes an adjacent ethanol facility that utilizes dairy byproducts.

5. Middlebury, Indiana

Dairy Product Plant: Operated by MMPA subsidiary Middlebury Cheese Company LLC, the Middlebury plant specializes in producing barrel and delihorn cheeses sold to wholesale customers and under the Heritage Ridge Creamery retail brand.

6. Canton, Ohio

Dairy Product Plant: Home to MMPA subsidiaries Superior Dairy and Creative Edge, the Canton dairy products plant produces fluid milk products and ice cream distributed across the United States.

7. Remus, Michigan

Dairy Product Plant: MMPA’s Remus dairy products plant specializes in cottage cheese production, with a daily capacity of over 500,000 pounds of milk.

Products made at MMPA’s plants include cheese, butter, ultrafiltered milk, nonfat dry milk, cream and condensed skim milk. MMPA sells its products as dairy ingredients to food manufacturers who make salad dressing, infant formulas, candy, ice cream, pudding, baked goods, cheese and yogurt. In the retail space, MMPA sells ice cream and fluid milk.
