MMPA appoints Chad Slump as Chief Financial Officer

NOVI, Mich. — The Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA) has appointed Chad Slump as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), joining the cooperative during a period of significant growth and investment.

As CFO, Slump will lead and oversee MMPA’s financial activities while helping develop and execute business strategies that support the cooperative’s long-term objectives, financial strength and organizational vision. Slump will also provide leadership for MMPA’s information technology function, working alongside leaders across the organization to ensure technology strategy, systems and infrastructure support operational excellence, innovation and future growth.

As MMPA continues to grow and evolve, Slump’s financial expertise and experience provide additional strength to the organization, supporting the cooperative’s recent investments and future opportunities. In recent months, MMPA has acquired its Remus facility and launched cottage cheese production there, expanded ultrafiltered milk production at its Ovid facility and started low-carbon ethanol production in Constantine. Together, these projects have expanded MMPA’s processing capabilities and created new opportunities to add value to its members’ milk.

“Chad brings strong financial expertise and a strategic perspective to MMPA that is important as we continue to grow and evolve,” said Joe Diglio, MMPA President and CEO. “His experience and perspective will strengthen our financial and technology capabilities as we continue to execute our business strategy, create value for our members and position MMPA for long-term success.”

Slump joins MMPA with extensive financial leadership experience. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Finance with Ardent Mills, one of North America’s leading flour-milling and ingredient companies, operating more than 40 facilities across the continent. In that role, Slump was a key member of the leadership team and was responsible for several critical financial functions.

“I’m excited to join MMPA and contribute to an organization with a strong history and a clear vision for the future,” Slump said. “I look forward to working alongside the MMPA team to build on the cooperative’s financial strength, advance its technology capabilities and support the long-term success of its dairy-farmer members.”

Slump holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration along with a Master of Business Administration from Bellevue University along with certifications in Lean Six Sigma and business strategy and competitive analysis.
