Virtual Dairy Care Academy

Dairy Care Academy is a free MMPA animal care training program for farm owners and employees. Designed to help farms meet Farmers Assuring Responsible Management (FARM) program training requirements, it also educates employees and improves performance. Traditionally, the day-long training opportunity takes place across the state and includes three sessions: proper milking practices, stockmanship and calf care. In 2021, like many other programs, Dairy Care Academy continues to provide the same quality training in a virtual setting.

Participants can ask questions and interact with the speakers during the training. After completion, participants in attendance will receive a certificate of completion and each member farm will receive a list of their employees who attended to meet FARM program training documentation needs.

Dairy Care Academy offers a variety of FARM program compliant courses.

Dairy Care Academy Training

In addition to the virtual training, the Dairy Care Academy team launched an online, on-demand employee training resource that can be found on the producer portal. The platform includes six courses complete with videos and resources, making it easy for members and farm employees to complete the course relevant to their role on the farm. After completing the course employees can take a quiz covering what they have learned and receive a printable certificate if they score 80 percent or better on the quiz.

Dairy Care Academy is founded on in-person trainings hosted across the state and online learning will never be a substitute for hands-on training. The team is still available to host on-farm trainings upon request.
