Herd Health Testing
In addition to the milk testing services avaliable through MMPA’s FDA certified laboratory, members have access to additional herd health testing in a variety of areas. MMPA members can monitor their herd’s health through MMPA’s partnership with other laboratories.
Cow samples may be tested for:
- Culture for Streptococcus agalactiae
- Strep non ag
- Staphylococcus aureus
- Coagulase negative staph
- Gram negative
- Somatic Cell Counts
Additional tests available:
- Raw bacteria counts
- Mycoplasma Cultures
- Bacteriology Cultures
- Bovine Viral Diarrhea (PCR and ELISA)
- Johne’s Milk Test (PCR and ELISA)
- Bovine Leukosis Test (ELISA)
- Milk Pregnancy (ELISA)
All tests must be scheduled through your MMPA member representative or the laboratory for proper sample submission protocol. Payments for testing will be made through automatic milk check deductions. For Northstar tests, you must complete an orange testing form and include it with the submitted sample.
